\r\n \r\nI currently own 5 Logitech products and have been an extremely loyal customer for more than 15 years having originally utilized your Trackball and Trackman products. Seems to me that the replacement device should be covered under its own warranty.especially since the replacement device is having the same issue as the original device. \r\n \r\nI am thoroughly disappointed with the fact that Logitech covers the warranty replacement device (the Performance MX in this case) via the warranty of the original defective device (MX Revolution). The Performance MX mouse that I was calling about was a warrenty replacement for an MX Revolution which was defective for the reason for the same reason and as mentioned in Jalida's post referring to left click errors. \r\n \r\nI am EXTREMELY disappointed with the end result. Just got off the phone with Logitech support. All I can say is swap the single-click to double-click on the left trigger and you'll see what I'm talking about. I hope this helps for anyone out there that maybe frustrated with this. Nor did the static discharge.Īfter doing this my only conclusion is that it could be a firmware issue because if I can swap the left trigger from a single-click to double-click and it works fine, there is obviously something screwy with the programming. I have tried the options that others have suggested by switching the USB to another port, unfortunately, that didn't remedy the problem. I know that this it perhaps not a resolution to the problem, but the button does respond and carries out the action of a single click when it actually performs a double-click. So now when I click with the left button, it produces a double-click and my middle button acts as a single-click. Now in order to do this, one of the buttons MUST have a single click which I had moved for the middle button.

The battery status on the mouse still reads full yet the double clicking has returned.Īfter some looking and playing with the preferences on the Logitech Preferences section, I noticed that you can swtich the single-click to a double-click for the left trigger.

I woke up this morning to turn on my Macbook Pro and single click works fine! However, it only lasted up till this evening. I replaced the battery that came with the mouse (which is a 1.2v, 1900mAh) with an Energizer 1.2v, 2500mAh and let the mouse charge over night for a complete charge with the computer off. I did find a work around for it especially for Mac. I sure wish I'd kept the receipt to all of these failed mice from Logitech, I'd send them all back in one box and have them send me 9 or more fixed or replacment mice, at least they'd last me a year.
#Disable magicprefs how to
At $79 to $109 (depending where you buy them) it's time for Logitech to step up to the plate and fix at least the one that I've got a receipt for.īut how do I get warranty repair and or exchange for my latest MX mouse purchase? All that I've found on the Logitech site tells me that it's warrantied for 3 years, but not how to actually go about sending it to them and having them either fix it or send me another one. It's broken like the rest of these Performance MX mice have broken, the LMB gives up. So my latest MX purchase was on Dec 18, 2011. I've literally got a baseball cap sitting here with all the broken Logitech Performance MX mice sitting in the hat and unfortunately never kept the receipts to them (or lost them) until this last purchase. Same with trying to highlight text on a document or web page, the LMB will just release as if I'm not holding it down even though I am.

What happens is that clicking the LMB sometimes does a double click, and when holding down the left mouse button, (like when playing a game), it will release on it's own. I've bought about 9 of them in the past year, and all of them eventually fail on the left mouse button. I'm quite frustrate with these Performance MX mice.
