This sounds strange - I'm using XCSoar much longer than since last summer for backup purposes, and it is FAI-approved (not that I'd appreciate that for OpenSource software since free code and trusted encryption are, of course, contradictions). I spend a lot of time last summer to get that digital signature stuff working. Regarding the G-Record: AndroFlight is the first Android app which has been approved by FAI. You don't have to be afraid because of the permissions - look at the features and you will know why the permissions are required: You can set it up to send a notification (email or SMS) at take-off or landing - this of course requires the permission to send SMS. Posted: Sun 11:12 UTC Post subject: RE: Androflight - Has anyone used this Android software Apologies if you've tried them and they have the same issues. (better to download from Playstore, I think.)ĭon't know if these might be of use. XCtrack saves in igc format and seems to be OK for XC Contest, though I'm not sure if acceptable for the UK league.Īnd I just loaded Gaggle on my HTC Desire HD, (also free from Playstore) which saves in igc. Posted: Sat 15:45 UTC Post subject: RE: Androflight - Has anyone used this Android software Was it successful? Is it good for airpspace navigation? The blurb mentions OpenAir. Positive experience? Has anyone submitted a log to the XCLeague from it? Has anyone used Androflight, paid for it? UK users? How was it? Google Play has 2 very positive user reviews and NOTHING ELSE.Ĭall me a sceptic (rhetorical) but I'm still not convinced. The paid version £16.05 has more sensible permissions.

There is a free version of Androflight with a set of permissions which would not lead me to install it. However, I just noticed that Androflight HAS been approved.

The last of these looks quite nice but what I would like to do is submit my tracklogs to the UK XCLeague.ĭue to issues with G-Records and public availability of hashing algorithms these are not FAI approved:Īs I understand XCSoar is approved but not the android version or its G-Record. I have been recording my tracklogs on my Android phone for a couple of years now.
